Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT DO I NEED TO MAKE SURE I HAVE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
Make sure that you and each signer has VALID ID. If witnesses are required, make sure to have made those arrangements or requested that I make the arrangements. But please keep in mind that there will be an extra charge for that service.
WHAT ARE ACCEPTABLE ID'S FOR IDENTIFICATION?
A non-expired passport, driver's license, or form of government issued identification document that contains the signature and photograph of the individual.
IF I SIGNED MY DOCUMENT A FEW DAYS AGO, CAN A NOTARY STILL NOTARIZE THAT SIGNATURE?
Short Answer? Maybe. If the document is an acknowledgement, yes. But, if the document is an oath or affirmation, no. That would not be legal. Since most people aren't aware of the difference in the two types of notarizations, it's easier to just wait and sign in front of the notary.
